Opening of Summer School, get to know each other, organizational guidelines.

  9:00 - 12:00 lectures (semi production lab of spinning)

Overview of linear textile products in terms of staple yarn and multifilament.

Brief introduction of current frequently used technologies, general basic principles of staple yarn forming.

Definition of basic terms used for linear textile quality description.

 12:00 – 12:30 break for lunch

 12:30 – 16:00 workshops (semi production lab of spinning)

Presentation and demonstration of possibilities for design and production of linear textiles in semi-production lab FT TUL (ring spinning, open end spinning, direc twist).

Production of own linear textile products in staple form for selected range of standard use by participants.

Preparation of own linear textile products for technical use by participants.

6th September

9:00 – 12:00 lecture and workshop (special testing lab of textile structures)

Introduction of structural hierarchy of linear textile products.

Definition of basic qualitative structural parameters of fibres and linear textiles.

Presentation and demonstration of possibilities for yarn quality evaluation in testing lab FT TUL.

12:00 – 12:30 break for lunch

12:30 – 13:00 lecture and workshop (special testing lab of textile structures)

Basic procedures related to experimental structure analysis by using NIS Elements Image Analysis.

Introduction of fiber and yarn cross-sectional analysis for internal structure of yarns evaluation via NIS Elements Image Analysis.

Evaluation of specific parameters of linear textile products from its longitudinal view via NIS Elements Image Analysis by participants.

7th September

9:00 – 12:00 workshop (department of technologies and structures)

Modelling of selected qualitative characteristics based known theoretical concepts.

The evaluation of the selected properties of prepared linear textile structures.

Data processing and comparison with expectations.

Course evaluation and closing of Summer School.
